This is the only piece of art your wedding will commission.

It should be treated exactly that way.

fine art & luxury Wedding Cakes · Virginia and beyond

"Designed around you. Executed once. Never repeated."

You've invested in every detail of your wedding with care and intention - the venue, the florals, the stationery. The cake sits at the center of all of it, in every photograph, forever. It should feel like it was made for that room, that light, that moment. Not chosen from a portfolio. Fine Art. Commissioned.

Commonwealth Cake Company creates fine art  and luxury wedding cakes for couples who know exactly what they want and need an artist who can actually deliver it. Every cake is a bespoke collaboration - grounded in your aesthetic, executed with the precision of a commissioned work and crafted to hold its own against every other beautiful thing in the room.

Commissions begin at $2000. We take one cake per date.

The Artist

i don't design cakes. i design the one cake that could only belong to your wedding.

I’m Tiffany, the artist and sole maker behind every Commonwealth Cake Company cake. My work begins with listening. To how you describe your love story. The artists you're drawn to. The way you want the room to feel when guests walk in. That conversation shapes everything, long before a sketch is made.

Designing cakes is more than a job - it’s my passion. I've been creating fine art and upscale wedding cakes in Virginia since 2011, and my work has been recognized nationally - but what matters most to me is the moment a couple sees their cake for the first time and knows, without question, that it's theirs. That's the only measure of success that counts.

cake design

A bespoke commission that begins with your aesthetic - your taste in art, interiors, fashion, and space - and ends with a sculptural cake that couldn't belong to anyone else's wedding.

sugar flowers

Hand-sculpted petal by petal, our sugar flowers are made to be kept long after the cake is gone. Each one is an original - designed to feel grown, not manufactured.

white-glove delivery

Your cake is delivered, assembled, and styled on-site by our team. The presentation is part of the art - nothing is left to chance between the studio and your reception.

anniversary cakes

For couples who want to mark each year with the same intention they brought to their wedding day. Anniversary commissions are designed as a continuation of your original cake - or as something entirely new that reflects where you are now.

The best of the best! So delicious and Tiffany is incredible to work with. 10/10 experience!

what it looks like to work together

01. The Discovery Call

We begin with a real conversation - no forms, no pressure. You share your vision, your aesthetic, your wedding details. I ask the questions that matter. By the end of the call, you'll have a preliminary investment estimate tailored to your specific wedding, and we'll both have a clear sense of whether this is the right fit. If it is, securing your date with a retainer is what opens the rest of the process. Cake commissions begin at $2000.

02. The Curated Tasting

Once your retainer is placed and your date is secured, we schedule your private tasting - complimentary as part of your commission. You'll experience our handcrafted flavors in studio or through a thoughtfully curated tasting box, paired and presented with the same intentionality as the cake itself. This is an unhurried conversation about flavor, texture, and the sensory experience of your wedding day.

03. The Collaborative Design

With flavors chosen, we move into the design process - the part where your aesthetic becomes a cake. We work from your references: the art you collect, the spaces you love, the feeling you want guests to have. I translate all of it into detailed sketches and creative direction, and we refine until every element is exactly right.

04. The Making

Your cake is handcrafted entirely in our atelier. Sugar flowers are sculpted petal by petal. Surfaces are refined with an artist's eye. Flavors are balanced to complement the design, not compete with it. Because we commit to one cake per date, your commission receives complete and undivided attention from start to finish.

05. The Unveiling

On your wedding day, we coordinate directly with your planner and venue. Your cake is delivered with care, assembled, and styled on-site - every detail adjusted, every element checked - so what your guests experience is exactly what we designed together. You don't think about the cake. You just get to experience it.

Beyond it's stunning appearance, the cake tasted phenomenal.

Questions Worth Asking Before You Reach Out

How far in advance should I reach out?

We take one cake per date, which means popular dates - particularly in spring and fall - reserve early. If your wedding is within the next eighteen months, now is the right time to start the conversation. We generally recommend reaching out 9-18 months in advance, though we're occasionally able to accommodate shorter timelines depending on availability.

How does the investment and booking process work?

We begin with a discovery call, after which you'll receive a preliminary investment estimate tailored to your specific wedding. Commissions start at $2000. To secure your date, we require a retainer and a signed contract - this is what opens the tasting and design process, and what guarantees our complete focus on your wedding. Final pricing is confirmed once the design is finalized.

How do i know the cake will actually reflect our aesthetic and not just yours?

Honestly? You'll know within the first ten minutes of our design consultation. This process starts with me listening - to how you talk about your love story, the art you're drawn to, the feeling you want people to have when they walk in. I'm not designing a cake I think is beautiful. I'm designing a cake that couldn't belong to anyone else's wedding. That said, the couples who get the most out of this collaboration come in with a strong point of view - even if they can't fully articulate it yet. If that's not where you are, this might not be the right fit, and I'd rather say that upfront.

what if the cake doesn't hold up visually next to everything else we've invested in?

This is the right thing to be afraid of. Visual coherence is about everything speaking the same language - a fine art cake at a wedding where the other details aren't at that level will look out of place, and I'll tell you that honestly before we move forward. The couples who commission this work have typically already invested with care across all their vendors. The cake becomes the final piece that ties everything together. If you're unsure, bring your design board to the consultation. We'll look at it together, and if I don't think the will land the way you're hoping, I'll say so.

one commission!

One couple. One date.

You've considered every detail. This is the one that ties all of them together. Begin with a no-pressure discovery call - we'll talk through your vision, and I'll give you a real investment estimate tailored to your wedding.  If it feels right, we move forward. If not, you've lost nothing but an hour and a clearer vision for your cake.
